The University Health, Counseling, and Testing Center is expanding to continue to meet the needs of UO students. The completion of the renovated building is slated for fall 2019.
The health center is building a 22,000-square-foot, three-story addition to the north side (facing 13th Street) of the current building. We are also renovating our existing space. Highlights of the changes include an expanded lobby and check-in area, a new acute care clinic, expanded or new facilities for the pharmacy, laboratory, primary care, psychiatry, nurse specialty clinic, STI clinic, counseling center, physical therapy sports medicine, and dental.
The health center will remain open during construction and services will continue. Some parts within and around the building may be affected. Except for brief times in the summer of 2019, we expect to continue our services without major interruption. As a result of the construction, however, there will be some changes at the health center. These changes include:
UHC North Entrance Closed
The north entrance facing 13th Avenue is closed for several months. Follow the signs to enter the building via the south doors (across from Walton Hall).
Physical Therapy/Sports Medicine Temporarily Relocating for Summer
The Physical Therapy/Sports Medicine (PTSM) department is temporarily relocating to Riley Hall, June 24-September 11, 2019, due to the renovation and expansion project. The department will be closed the week of June 17–21 to move to the new location. Continuing services at Riley Hall include physical therapy, athletic training, acupuncture, and massage therapy.
Riley Hall is located on the southeast corner of Patterson Street and East 11th Avenue, one block west of the EmX Hilyard Station.
Dental Clinic Closed for the Summer; New Clinic to Open this Fall
Due to the renovationand expansion of the health center, the UHC dental clinic will be closed this summer. Our new dental clinic will open in the fall and will include a wider range of services, including restorations, crowns, same-day emergency care, extractions, cleanings, and periodontal treatments.
