Want to learn about sexual health and well-being in a fun and engaging way? Join us for Sex Week—a campus event created and hosted for students by students.
Sex Week takes place February 10–14 and offers lots of great events to help students learn about sexual citizenship and how to access numerous sexual health and well-being resources at the University of Oregon. Sex Week events promote sexual citizenship at the UO, which includes open dialogue, aims to create a supportive environment, and enables students to make informed decisions and embrace their role as responsible, self-sufficient, consenting adults. Sex Week is designed to be inclusive and is a great option for those who are not sexually active as well! Here are the events for the week:
- Monday, February 10: Sex Toy Bingo at the EMU Ballroom, 6:00–9:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, February 11: Sex Therapist Q&A and “As You Like It” educational events, 4:00–6:30 p.m. and Free STI Testing, 1:00–5:00 p.m. at the EMU
- Wednesday, February 12: Make Your Own Safer Sex Kits, noon–2:00 p.m. at the EMU
- Thursday, February 13: Empower Your Pleasure Art Show, 2:00–5:00 p.m. in the Gerlinger Alumni Lounge
- Friday, February 14: Make Your Own Safer Sex Kits, noon–2:00 p.m. at the EMU; Aphrodisiac Cooking Class, Global Scholars Hall Demo Kitchen
Students may also be eligible to get a voucher for asymptomatic STI screening at University Health Services (UHS) at no cost to them. Getting screened for STIs on a regular basis and after new partners BEFORE symptoms begin is a great way for students to know their STI status. The good news is that many STIs are curable and all are treatable.
UHS offers sexual well-being and sexual citizenship programming throughout the year through the Duck Nest, and free sexual health supplies through Protection Connection hot spots located in several locations on campus.
