University Health Services’ newly expanded sports medicine clinic can now treat students with recent musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries. The clinic consists of physicians with access to the most recent and advanced approaches to diagnosing and treating sports-related injuries, or those injuries that occur in the process of one’s daily life.
We will gather information from the mechanism of injury, physical exam findings, and on-site X-ray services (if needed) to help diagnose your condition. The newly added, state-of-the-art musculoskeletal ultrasound can also be used to aid in the diagnosis.
Patients who have recently experienced a suspected sports-related concussion (SRC) can also be evaluated using up-to-date concussion guidelines and management.
If a brace, splint, crutches, or casting are needed for your injury, our experienced staff can provide these depending on the severity of the injury. Referrals can be generated for physical therapy, acupuncture, and massage. In addition, if further evaluation is needed with an MRI or an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon, we can help facilitate a timely local referral.
