Health Care

Your Family Doctor Away From Home

University Health Services provides comprehensive primary healthcare and mental health resources, as well as a wide array of specialty services. We work to support students in reaching their optimal health so that they can achieve their full academic and personal potential.

Primary Care

Primary care clinicians are your first line of defense for most medical problems. If you don’t know where to start, talk to your primary care clinician as they are prepared to help you with everything from sexual and mental health to chronic issues and more. Once your primary care clinician diagnoses what you need, they can clear up the issue themselves or refer you to a specialist. While it is beneficial to see the same physician or nurse practitioner every time, the University Health Services medical staff work as a team to provide you with the best possible healthcare.

Mental Health

Mental health is just as important as physical health in maintaining a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle. It can be hard to manage your mental health with the demands of college—academics, jobs and internships, social life, extracurricular activities, sleep, and everything else you do. There are a variety of resources to help you manage your mental health. In addition to the mental health services provided by primary care clinicians, University Health Services offers outpatient psychiatric care, therapy and crisis services through UHS Counseling Services, and the Duck Nest provides stress management programming and creates a relaxing environment in the heart of campus, the EMU.

Additional Clinical Services

University Health Services is a multi-specialty organization. This means that—in addition to primary care and mental health services—we also offer physical therapy, pharmacy, dentistry, diagnostic services, acupuncture, and massage. In addition to these ancillary services, UHS offers expanded medical services such as travel medicine, STI screening and sexual well-being, endocrinology, immunizations, and more. Whatever you need, the health services team is here to help you maintain your health so you can make the most of your time at the UO.

Faculty and Staff Services

Because University Health Services is primarily funded by student fees, our main focus is on UO students. However, select services are now available to UO faculty members and staff. This includes access to dental services, physical therapy, acupuncture, and our full suite of pharmacy services. Within the pharmacy, UO employees can manage their prescriptions, access over-the-counter products, and receive clinical services offered by our pharmacists such as vaccinations, smoking cessation, and more.
