Physical Wellness Outreach and Programs

The physical well-being team provides presentations to a variety of audiences around wellness resources on campus, nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, how self-care relates to academic success, and more.

Faculty, staff, and student groups can request presentations from our peers on a variety of topics including sleep, stress, nutrition, goal-setting, and well-being resources on campus.

Grocery Shuttle

Students can book a ride to affordable grocery stores off campus through the grocery shuttle program. The shuttle visits different stores every other week throughout the term. Find the schedule and book a ride through the Duck Nest Calendly.

Cooking Classes

Learn cooking skills and how to access food resources by participating in our cooking classes. Students work together to make a meal and then enjoy the food they prepared at the end. Learn more and sign up via our Calendly (advertised on Instagram and Engage).

Peer-Led Gentle Yoga

The physical well-being team offers peer-led gentle yoga that is intended for students with any level of experience with yoga. Students are encouraged to ask questions and adapt any poses to meet their individual needs.

Recipe of the Week

We post weekly affordable and seasonal recipes while also highlighting resources to help students access ingredients for those and other recipes.

Cooking Videos

In the past, the physical well-being team has made short videos that demonstrate how to make a recipe from the Basic Needs Cookbook or other affordable and accessible recipes. The team has done this as a solo project as well as in collaboration with the Basic Needs Program to highlight recipes from the ECM Student Food Pantry cookbook. You can find these videos and recipes on the Duck Nest Instagram.
