Welcome to fall term! All of us at the University Health Services would like to warmly welcome you to the 2021–22 academic year.
As I begin my third year here, I am constantly amazed by the welcoming and supportive environment at the University of Oregon. This is a community dedicated to helping students succeed. In fact, all the work done at UHS is intended to help our community SOAR. We intend for members of our community to be Strong in mind and body, On their path to success, Aspire to life-long health, and Resilient in the face of challenge. We are experts in college health and work to support students in reaching their optimal health, so that they can achieve their full academic and personal potential.
There is an exciting year ahead at UHS. We are planning to redesign services to better care for you, our students. We intend to find innovative ways to provide health education, programming, and medical and mental health services. We invite you to help shape our future! There are many ways students can engage with UHS: consider joining the Student Health Advisory Committee or Student Advisory Board; there are paid and volunteer opportunities to be a student greeter or work in UHS, and you may also engage as a peer health educator. We also invite you to connect with us in less formal ways. Feel free to drop us a note to let us know how we are doing! Our intent is to be student focused and meet your needs.
I realize how stressful the past two years have been. Many of you have not visited campus prior to arriving for this fall term. Many of you have not studied in a classroom for more than a year. We have all had disruptions to our daily lives and routines, and we have all been affected by COVID-19 in some way. This fall is a time of transition for every one of us. You may experience a range of emotions or effects on your health. This is normal. Please know that UHS has a multitude of resources for you. We provide comprehensive medical and mental health care. Our services are a mix of in person and telemedicine/teletherapy. You are welcome into UHS for healthcare services or to drop by to get same-day care in our Acute Care Clinic or get a question answered. Please reach out to us, because we are here for you.
UHS is promoting a safe campus for living and learning during COVID-19. We promote vaccination for those who are able to receive it, mask wearing and social distancing, along with other strategies for personal safety. Follow our social media for the most up-to-date information:
